During 8 months I had a very special assignment for the Valencian Community Tourism Agency. I mean special because it allowed me to go back to places I visited when I was a kid, or even visiting my hometown, Altea, many times. It also meant to get to know very well almost every place of my region and to realize how amazing it is.
Along with a team of four, the job was to photograph every single detail around the Valencian Community that could be a potential point of interest for tourism, which included inland and coast villages (to name only a few: Altea, Jávea, Denia, Benidorm, La Nucía, Polop, Guadalest, Moraira, Calpe, Peñíscola, Valencia, Alicante, Castellón, Villajoyosa, Albir, Elche, Alcoy, Alcalali, Aras de los Olmos, Culla…), all kinds of buildings and architecture in general, as golf courses, yacht clubs, beaches, coast creeks, monuments, events, traditions… It also included a variety of sessions with walk-on actors enjoying their activities and promoting specific destinations inside the region.
The slogan was clear: everything should be as natural and real as possible and take the most out of every lovely place.
During this time I drove more than 15.000kms, walked thousands and thousands of steps, visited and photographed more than 150 different places/events around the region, listened to more than a gazillion songs while driving, slept in dozens of hotels, and enjoyed many breakfasts, each one in a different spot.
Carla, my partner, joined me in many of them too.
It was an amazing assignment which I enjoyed a lot. Here there is a very small selection from those eight months of work.
